Butter Curry Prawn

Ingredients

4 Tiger Prawns
2 slices of Kraft Cheese (optional for Cheddar Cheese)
2 tbsp Butter
2 stalks Curry Leaves
Salt & Pepper to marinate the prawns

Gravy (mix all)

3 tbsp Curry Powder
3 tbsp Garlic Powder
1 cup Water

Methods
  1. Clean Tiger Prawn. Marinate with some salt and pepper.
  2. Heat skillet with cooking oil and when the oil is hot, fry the prawn till cook or the shell turns pink.
  3. Set aside the prawn.
  4. To make the gravy, Using a clean wok/pan, heat up and add cooking oil. When the oil is hot add in butter. Melt the butter, keep stirring to avoid burn. Add curry leaves, keep stirring.
  5. When you smell the aroma of the curry leaves, add in the gravy's ingredients and keep stirring.
  6. when the gravy is boiling, add in cheese and mix well.
  7. Use a spatula to scoop the gravy over the prawns.
  8. Serve well with rice or spagetthi.
  9. Bon-Appetite.

















Simplee Kiddy Meals: Salmon Millet Cake

Salmon Millet Cake

If you have young kids at home, probably you want to cook something that can catch their appetite. I have tried this recipe myself and my daughter loves it, even myself just fall in love with this Millet Cake. Millet is nutrition and I start feeding this to both my baby and toddler. I added millet into their daily dietary such as rice and porridge.

It could be a perfect snack for kids and dinner for us. I made the smaller bite size for kids and a bigger for us to be served at dinner.

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup    Millet
  • 100 gm  Salmon Fillet
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Potato
  • 2 Cups  Chicken Stock 
  • 1 tsp     Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp   Minced Garlic
  • some parsley and salt to taste
Methods
  • Heat the saucepan, add in some cooking oil/olive oil and brown some minced garlic, add in the millet and stir fried for 5 minutes when you smell the nice aroma of the garlic and millet, add in Chicken Stock.
  • Bring Millet and Chicken Stock to boil, keep stirring.
  • Add in potato and cook for another 15 minutes, keep stirring.
  • Add in cheese, stir till the cheese melted.
  • Stir in Salmon Fillet that has been cut into small cubes, do not over cook the Salmon if not it will be dry and flaky. maximum of 2 mins.
  • Add in Salt & Parsley to taste.
  • Let the millet to cool down.
  • When the millet is cooled, take an adequate amount and make it into a ball, flatten it between palms. Pat some flour on both side.
  • Heat a frying with some Olive Oil, fried the millet cake.
  • Enjoy them while warm.
     








Oatmeal Raisin Strawberry Chips Cookies (scones)

Oatmeal Raisin Strawberry Chips Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups rolled oats  (toasted)                       
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup strawberry flavored white chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, mix canola oil, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the oats and raisins last. Drop by rounded spoonfuls (size of a golf ball)  onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Simplee Dinner Ideas : Pan Seared Dory for kids

Simplee Dinner Idea : Pan Seared Dory with White Sauce

Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Preparation Time : 15 minutes

When you ran out of time and also idea what to cook for dinner, perhaps you could try this. It's simple yet delicious, my kid and husband love it.

Ingredients:
Dory Fillet - 200gm (marinate with salt & parsley) coated with corn flour
Mixed Vegetables (corn, carrot & pea) - 1/4 cup
Mash Potato (pre cook potato, mashed)
Prego cabonara white sauce - 3 tbsp
Water - 1/4 cup

Method:
1) Marinate fish fillet with some salt, just a pinch and some dried parsley flakes on both sides. All over. Coated with corn flour, then put it in a pre heated pan and fry.

2) Fry for 5 minutes each side, depends on the thickness of your fillet. Approximately 5 minutes for 1.5cm thicj fillet.
3) When the fish is done, set aside.
4) Mix carbonara sauce with water and let it boil, put in mix vegetables. Keep stirring for 5 minutes.
5) Pour sauce over fish. Ready to be served.

Simplee Dinner Idea - kiddy Shepherd's Pie

 

Preparation Time : 30 minutes
Cooking Time : 20 minutes

I have a very picky eater at home, argh.. Just to make her finish her plate of rice probably is the toughest task for the day! Well I thought for a change, maybe no rice for tonight, and potato is equally good.

So I have decided to make Shepherd's Pie for Olivia's dinner. Simply and yummy..

Ingredients:
Potato 2 medium size
Ground pork 50g
Wochester sauce 1 tbsp
Tomato sauce 2 tbsp
Parsley 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Butter 1 small cube
Green peas & carrot 1/4 cup
Water - 1 cup
Corn Flour - 2 tsp

Method:
1. Marinate ground pork with Wochester Sauce & parsley.
2. Steam potato till cook for 20 minutes. Mash them with fork, add butter and mix well.
3. Cook ground pork, peas & carrots in a pan. Stri fried till pork is cook and peas and carrots turn soft. Add in corn flour, tomato sauce into water, mix well and stir in the ground pork mix.
4. Transfer them into a oven proof bowl (medium size). Top with mash potato.
5. Bake in high heat for 15 minutes or when potato turns yellowish/light brown.
6. Ready to be serve.

Simplee Kiddy Meals

Preparation time: 10min
Cooking time: 40min

Ingredients:
3 tbsp Millet
2 cups water
2 slices cheese
1 crabstick (cut small)
2 tbsp shredded carrot
1 tsp anchovies powder (optional)
1 cup chopped spinach
Salt to taste

Method:
1) Put millet, carrot, crabstick and water in pot, bring to boil.
2) Cook with low for 15min till millet is soft.
3) When millet is soften, add spinach. Stir in. Add cheese, stir till cheese melted.
4) done! Ready to serve as porridge.

For millet cake:
1) Cool down remaining millet.
2) When cooled, make into small balls and flatten it then fry it.
3) Millet Cake Done!
